Coordination
In 2011, the Regional Department of Health and the Regional Education Board signed a Protocol of Understanding for promoting health and well-being projects and activities in schools. Under this partnership, working groups have been established to set the relevant guidelines, coordinate activities and improve collaboration between the partnered local entities.
The first group is the Interinstitutional Technical Group (GTI), made up of representatives from the regional health and education sectors, which operates across the region and prepares the annual strategic health promotion plan.
The GTI is supported by six Interdisciplinary Groups (GIA), appointed by each local health authority to implement and monitor the strategic plan in the provinces. Each group is coordinated by health education representatives from the Department of Prevention and is composed of representatives from the provincial education board and the local health authorities.
