Poisonings

Poisoned bait and food are a big threat to the health and safety of both pets and wild animals, as well as an environmental hazard.
Deliberately spreading toxic substances, often disguised as food, with the aim of harming or killing, is a criminal offence and can have serious consequences for people, especially children.
Every year, the Ministry of Health gives out specific instructions for reporting and testing and banning the use, preparation and possession of poisoned bait or food to try and stop animal poisoning.
If you find bait, or animals that have died in suspicious circumstances, don't try to remove them with your bare hands. Instead, report the incident immediately to the local police or forest rangers, and make sure you give them the precise location. If you can, make sure you secure the area until the authorities get there, and make sure no other animals or people can get in.
