Brand visual identity tools

The Region of Puglia has defined its brand identity in its Regional Prevention Communication Plan (PRCP) for 2021-2025. One of the key aspects of effective institutional communication is visual distinctiveness and recognition, to ensure that all prevention communication activities can be easily recalled by the public as part of the Region’s programme.

The regional health service of Puglia had already adopted Hospitality Guidelines in 2019. This project, implemented by the Regional Agency for Sustainable Development (ASSET), in partnership with the Regional Agency for Health and Social Services (AReSS), defined a common identity system for hospitals, Water Protection Plans, and the network of local care facilities, as well as a set of new logos for the regional health service providers.

Puglia Prevention Logo

In 2022, a specific logo for prevention purposes was added to these guidelines. The first step was to create a logo to ensure consistency, trust and credibility in all regional communications reaching out to communities on the subjects of prevention and health promotion. The stylistic distinctiveness of the Prevention logo can help the public immediately recognise the subject-matter and institutional source of the communication and feel welcomed and reassured.
Intuitive and expressive, the logo represents a P, for both Prevention and Puglia. The letter consists of two graphic elements: a stylised person, highlighting the people-centred approach to prevention, and a semicircle, symbolising the link connecting people and the regional government. Prevention is a journey we all take together. This sense of togetherness is also reflected in the colours used, with blue, purple, green and orange blending together to signify a common purposefulness.

Thematic icons

In line with the institutional logo, the Region has also adopted a set of thematic icons representing the areas of prevention, also featuring two simple graphic elements, a circle and a line, representing a person and a pathway.
