Network of businesses that promote health

Most people spend a large part of their day in the workplace, which makes them ideal settings for promoting good practices that can improve the well-being and health of employees.

Workplace health promotion (WHP) is a prevention strategy that involves employers and their employees based on a participatory approach.

Encouraging alcohol- and smoke-free environments, ensuring proper nutrition in company canteens and promoting cycling over driving are examples of initiatives already adopted by businesses committed to implementing WHP.

Addressing addictions in the workplace

A break at work is a valuable moment to recharge your energy, but it’s important to choose healthier alternatives to smoking. Nicotine addiction increases the risk of respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. Even newer products, such as e-cigarettes, are not without risks.

It’s better to choose activities that support well-being, such as a short walk outdoors or simply taking a few minutes to relax.

A break is exactly what you need. The choice is yours.

The Regional Prevention Plan supports WHP through the creation of a network, inspired by the European Network for Workplace Health Promotion (ENWH), which consists of medium-sized and large companies that choose to commit to promoting good practices in this area.

Puglia Region intends to set up dedicated outpatient facilities, within the Workplace Prevention and Safety Service (Spesal) of the local health authorities, for small and micro-enterprises and self-employed workers.
